ROBOTICS ENGINEER · NÜRNBERG, GERMANY
Aravind
Palakkal.
I build robots that sense, move, and think. Haptic interfaces for UR robots, humanoid systems at Jarm.ai, and a combat robot built from the ground up with Valyrion Robotics Club.
ABOUT
Engineer at the edge of
hardware and intelligence.
I'm a Robotics Engineer currently pursuing my M.Sc. in Elektromobilität-ACES at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. My work sits at the intersection of mechanical design, robot control, and AI — I care about building systems that function reliably in the real world, not just in simulation.
Previously at Jarm.ai GmbH as a Werkstudent Robotics Engineer, where I built data pipelines between Isaac Sim, MoveIt and ROS2, trained VLA models for robotic arms, and designed CAD for a 7-DOF humanoid. Before that, I spent a year in railway operations at Arise Ports & Logistics, running predictive maintenance programs on diesel locomotives.

SELECTED WORK
Haptic Interface for UR Robot
PERSONAL PROJECT
Developed a haptic interface for a 6-DOF Universal Robot for handling delicate objects — translating hand motion into precise joint control with force feedback.
Humanoid Systems — CAD & VLA
JARM.AI GMBH
Architected data flows between Isaac Sim, MoveIt and ROS2 for end-to-end robotic validation. Trained VLA models for the S101 arm and designed CAD for a 7-DOF humanoid arm in SolidWorks.
Valyrion — Wedge Combat Robot
VALYRION ROBOTICS CLUB · SVNIT SURAT
Drafted concepts through 6 rounds of design feedback and built prototypes for a wedge-based combat robot. Full mechanical design lifecycle from concept to competition-ready build.
